Prestige Skin Aftercare Guides

All the information you need to care for your skin after your treatment.

Treatment Aftercare Guidance

Advanced Electrolysis (Skin Lesion Removal)

What to expect

The treated area may look red, slightly swollen or feel tender immediately afterwards. A small crust or scab may develop as the skin heals. This is a normal part of the healing process.

For the first 24–48 hours

Avoid touching or rubbing the treated skin unnecessarily. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours and excessive heat, saunas and swimming for 24–48 hours. Keep the area clean and pat rather than rub it dry. Avoid makeup directly over the treated area until the skin surface has closed and any crusting has settled.

Skincare while your skin heals

Allow any crust or scab to fall away naturally. Do not pick or scratch it. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and other potentially irritating active skincare directly over the area until it has healed. Apply SPF50 daily and protect the treated area carefully from sun exposure while it heals.

Worried about something?

Some redness, tenderness or swelling can be normal following treatment. Please contact us if you develop increasing pain, spreading redness, fever, pus or symptoms that are getting worse rather than gradually settling. For urgent medical concerns related to your treatment, contact Abby on 07414 467429.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

What to expect

Small raised bumps, mild redness, tenderness or occasional bruising around the injection sites can occur and usually settle quickly. Most people begin to notice a change from around day 5, with a near-full result by approximately day 14. The effect can continue to develop for up to 30 days. If a review is required, this should take place after day 14.

For the first 24–48 hours

For the first 24 hours, avoid rubbing, massaging or repeatedly touching the treated area. Remain upright for approximately 4–6 hours following treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours, and excessive heat, saunas and swimming for 24–48 hours. Keep the injection sites clean and avoid makeup directly over them for 24 hours where possible.

Skincare and other treatments

You can return to gentle skincare once the injection sites have settled. Avoid facial massage or treatments involving firm pressure over the treated areas immediately after treatment.

Worried about something?

Some redness, tenderness or swelling can be normal following treatment. Please contact us if you develop symptoms that feel unusual, significant or are getting worse rather than gradually settling.

For urgent medical concerns related to your treatment, contact Abby on 07414 467429.

Aqualyx Fat Dissolving

What to expect

Swelling, tenderness, bruising, warmth and firmness are common following Aqualyx treatment. Swelling can be noticeable and may last for several days. The treated area can temporarily feel uneven or firm while the inflammatory response settles.

For the first 24–48 hours

For the first 24 hours, avoid rubbing, massaging or repeatedly touching the treated area unless we have specifically advised you to do so. Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours, and excessive heat, saunas and swimming for 24–48 hours. Keep the injection sites clean.

After your treatment

Allow swelling and tenderness to settle naturally and maintain normal hydration. Do not massage the treated area unless you have specifically been advised to do so.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if you develop increasing pain, spreading redness, fever, discharge, significant skin colour changes or swelling that appears excessive or is getting worse rather than gradually settling.

For urgent medical concerns related to your treatment, contact Abby on 07414 467429.

Blood Tests (Venepuncture)

What to expect

A small amount of tenderness or bruising around the blood draw site is common and usually settles within a few days.

After your blood test

Keep firm pressure over the site until bleeding has completely stopped and leave the dressing in place for a short period afterwards. If you feel faint or light-headed, sit or lie down until you feel fully recovered. If you have been fasting, you can eat and drink once your blood test is complete unless you have been advised otherwise.

Activity

Normal daily activities can usually be resumed straight away. If the area is tender or bruised, avoid heavy lifting or strenuous use of that arm for the remainder of the day.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if the area becomes increasingly swollen, painful, hot or red, or if bleeding continues despite firm pressure. Seek urgent medical help if you feel seriously unwell.

Chemical Peels (BioRePeel)

What to expect

Your skin may feel warm, tight or slightly sensitive following your peel. Mild redness, dryness or flaking can develop over the following few days, although BioRePeel does not always cause visible peeling.

For the first 24–48 hours

Avoid touching or rubbing the skin unnecessarily. Avoid makeup and strenuous exercise for 24 hours, and excessive heat, saunas and swimming for 24–48 hours. Keep the skin clean, pat rather than rub it dry and use a clean pillowcase. Make sure makeup brushes and sponges are clean before you use them again.

Skincare while your skin settles

Keep your skincare simple and gentle. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and SPF50. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and other potentially irritating active ingredients until your skin feels comfortable again. Do not pick or rub any areas of flaking skin.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if you experience persistent burning, marked swelling, blistering, significant pain or redness that is getting worse rather than settling. For urgent medical concerns related to your treatment, contact Abby on 07414 467429.

Dermal Filler

What to expect

Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common after dermal filler and can vary depending on the area treated. There is no need to massage the area unless you have specifically been advised to do so. Small areas of firmness or lumpiness often settle as swelling resolves and the filler integrates. This can take around four weeks and occasionally longer.

For the first 24–48 hours

For the first 24 hours, avoid rubbing, massaging or repeatedly touching the treated area unless we have specifically advised you otherwise. Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours, and excessive heat, saunas and swimming for 24–48 hours. Keep the injection sites clean and avoid makeup directly over them for 24 hours where possible.

Skincare and other treatments

Keep skincare gentle while the area settles. Avoid facial massage or other treatments involving firm pressure over the treated area until swelling and tenderness have resolved.

Important: contact us immediately if:

Skin becomes unusually pale, grey or mottled, or you develop worsening or unexpected pain. Although rare, these symptoms can indicate reduced blood flow to the skin and require urgent assessment. Contact Abby immediately on 07414 467429.

Dermal Filler Dissolving

What to expect

Redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur following hyaluronidase injections. The response can vary depending on the amount, type and location of filler being dissolved. Further assessment or additional treatment can sometimes be required.

For the first 24–48 hours

For the first 24 hours, avoid rubbing, massaging or repeatedly touching the treated area unless specifically advised. Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours, and excessive heat, saunas and swimming for 24–48 hours. Keep the injection sites clean and avoid makeup directly over them for 24 hours where possible.

Skincare and other treatments

Keep skincare gentle around the treated area and avoid facial treatments or massage until swelling and tenderness have settled.

Important: allergic reactions

Contact us promptly if you develop significant or worsening swelling, widespread itching, hives or another reaction that concerns you. Difficulty breathing, swelling of the tongue or throat, collapse or symptoms of a severe allergic reaction require emergency medical attention. Call 999.

Dermaplaning

What to expect

Your skin should feel smoother immediately after treatment and may look slightly pink or feel more sensitive than usual for a short period.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if you develop increasing redness, pain, swelling, discharge, a persistent rash or symptoms that are getting worse rather than gradually settling. For urgent medical concerns related to your treatment, contact Abby on 07414 467429.

Facials including Dr Platon and LUMIXA

What to expect

Your skin may look slightly pink or feel more sensitive immediately after your facial, particularly if your treatment included exfoliation, dermaplaning, Dr Platon, Lumixa or active skincare. Your practitioner will explain any additional precautions that apply to the specific treatment you received.

For the first 24 hours

Treat your skin gently and avoid rubbing or unnecessarily touching it. Make sure anything that comes into contact with your face, including pillowcases, towels, makeup brushes and sponges, is clean. If your facial included an active treatment, we may advise you to temporarily avoid makeup, strenuous exercise, swimming, saunas or excessive heat. Follow the advice given during your appointment.

Skincare after your facial

If your skin feels sensitive, keep your routine simple with a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and SPF50.

Avoid introducing new active ingredients immediately after treatment. If your facial included Dr Platon, Lumixa, dermaplaning or another treatment requiring additional aftercare, follow the specific instructions given in clinic.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if you experience persistent burning, significant swelling, blistering, worsening redness or another reaction that concerns you.

For urgent medical concerns related to your treatment, contact Abby on 07414 467429.

Microneedling

What to expect

Redness, warmth, tightness and mild swelling are common immediately after microneedling. Your skin may feel similar to mild sunburn and can become dry or flaky as it heals.

For the first 24–48 hours

Avoid touching or rubbing the treated skin unnecessarily. Avoid makeup and strenuous exercise for 24 hours, and excessive heat, saunas and swimming for 24–48 hours. Keep the skin clean, pat rather than rub it dry and use a clean pillowcase. Make sure makeup brushes and sponges are clean before you use them again.

Skincare while your skin heals

For approximately 3–5 days, avoid:

Retinoids
Hydroquinone
AHA and BHA exfoliating acids
Benzoyl peroxide
Other potentially irritating active skincare

Use mineral SPF50 and avoid direct sun exposure for approximately 10 days.

Avoid spray tan and self-tan for 2–3 weeks and alcohol-based toners for 10–14 days.

Avoid other clinical skin treatments, including microdermabrasion, laser, IPL and chemical peels, until your skin has healed.

Once your skin is fully settled, gentle exfoliation can help remove any remaining flaking. Do not exfoliate while the skin is still red, sore or sensitive.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if you develop increasing pain, spreading redness, fever, pus, blistering or symptoms that are getting worse rather than gradually healing. For urgent medical concerns related to your treatment, contact Abby on 07414 467429.

Radio Frequency Microneedling

What to expect

Redness, warmth, swelling and tenderness are expected following RF microneedling. Your skin may feel tight or slightly rough over the following few days. Because radiofrequency energy is delivered alongside microneedling, swelling and redness can sometimes be more noticeable than with standard microneedling.

Keep skincare simple and gentle while the skin barrier recovers. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and other potentially irritating active ingredients until the skin feels comfortable again. Use SPF50 every day and avoid unnecessary direct sun exposure while the skin heals. Avoid additional clinical treatments over the area until it has fully recovered.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if you develop blistering, increasing pain, significant swelling, spreading redness, discharge or symptoms that are getting worse rather than gradually settling.

For urgent medical concerns related to your treatment, contact Abby on 07414 467429.

Skin Boosters (Sunekos) and Polynucleotides

What to expect

Small bumps at the injection sites, redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising are common immediately after treatment. Depending on the product and injection technique, small raised papules may remain visible for a short period before gradually flattening.

Keep skincare gentle while the injection sites settle. Avoid facial massage or other treatments involving firm pressure over the treated area until swelling and tenderness have resolved.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if you develop increasing pain, marked or spreading redness, significant swelling, discharge, skin colour changes or symptoms that are getting worse rather than gradually settling.

After your injection

Keep the injection site clean and avoid repeatedly touching or rubbing it.

Normal daily activities can usually be resumed straight away unless you feel unwell or have been advised otherwise.

Worried about something?

Please contact us if you experience increasing pain, swelling, spreading redness, heat or discharge around the injection site. Contact us promptly if you develop significant swelling, widespread itching, hives or another reaction that concerns you.
