Ready to get started?
Dermaplaning is a simple, safe method of exfoliation that consists of using a scalpel to gently stroke off the top layers of dulling dead skin cells and vellus hairs ('peach fuzz') revealing a smoother, brighter complexion. Dermaplaning allows for greater penetration of skincare products so is perfect for before a peel or skincare mask, and creates a flawless canvas for makeup.
No. You will feel gentle sweeping, not cutting. Most people find it relaxing.
Firstly, you are not alone in wondering this - so many clients are concerned that the vellus hair will grow back thicker and darker after dermaplaning! However thankfully this is not the case. The hair being removed during the dermaplaning treatment is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment. This has been scientifically proven as hair cannot change from vellus hair to terminal hair (like eyebrows or scalp hair) due to its DNA make-up.
Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, except those with active acne. Clients with very oily skin or who are prone to breakouts may occasionally experience flare-ups afterwards, so we will discuss your skin history at your consultation to decide if this is the best option or if another treatment may suit you better.
If you have deep, cystic acne, it’s best to wait until breakouts have cleared before booking dermaplaning.
Please let us know about any allergies or skin sensitivities before starting treatment. Dermaplaning is particularly beneficial for those with rough or dry skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the skin smoother, more refined, and naturally glowing.
No. You may be a little pink for a short time however this resolves within hours. Most people resume normal activities straight away.
Often yes, because there are no active peeling chemicals involved in the blade step. We will tailor products and always confirm suitability first.
Results last around 3 weeks. Booking a monthly dermaplaning treatment helps to maintain results.
Yes. It pairs well with facials, microneedling and light peels. We will advise on safe combinations for your skin and can build a bespoke treatment plan just for you.
Dermaplaning removes 21 days worth of dead skin cells, so it’s best to allow the skin to complete its rejuvenation cycle before your next treatment.
