What is LED Light Therapy?

Light Emitting Diode (LED) therapy is based on the principle that skin uses light as a source of energy to stimulate natural cellular responses. Therefore, an LED device can be used to stimulate the skin’s natural rejuvenation and repair processes without discomfort or downtime.

How does it work?

Each wavelength of the visible light spectrum corresponds to a different colour and these penetrate the skin at different depths. Depending on how deeply the wavelengths penetrate, they cause different biological reactions. Lumixa uses red and blue light to activate its gel masks.

Red Light

What is LUMIXA?

Lumixa is a unique multi-action treatment which uses Fluorescent Light Energy Technology (FLE Tech) to repair, regenerate and energise skin. The technology consists of a patented photoconverter gel containing exogenous chromophores that is applied to the skin, then activated under a professional LED lamp to generate Fluorescent Light Energy. This latest innovation in light therapy produces multiple hyper-pulsed wavelengths

in a single treatment, benefiting both the epidermis and dermis. Backed by clinical research, the treatment itself is completely safe, painless, non-invasive and suitable for all skin types.

Treatment Plan

- A series of 5 Lumixa fluorescent light energy treatments are recommended and the treatments can be conducted once every 7 to 14 days.

- A booster series of 5 treatments can be carried out after 12-18 weeks.

- 1 maintenance treatment can then be carried out every 4 to 12 weeks as necessary.

- Please note optimum results will be achieved 12-18 weeks after treatments as per average epidermal turnover time.

Your Treatment

1. We will discuss your current skin concerns and goals to determine the LUMIXA mask to use during treatment.

2. I will prepare your skin by applying CLINICCARE skin cleanser and Instant Painless Peel.

3. Once this is complete I will apply a protective layer of vaseline to your eyebrows, lips and any significant areas of hyperpigmentation.

4. You will be provided with a hair band and protective goggles to put on during your treatment. Please note the device doesn't touch your skin at any point.

5. The LUMIXA gel containing a patented chromophore is then applied. The gel remains on the skin's surface and is not absorbed. The photoconverter gel is activated with the use of the professional Dermalux LED lamp for approximately 15 minutes. The gel performs a photoconversion, producing Fluorescent Light Energy which penetrates into the skin and stimulates cellular regeneration.

6. After your treatment I will remove the mask and then cleanse, tone and apply sunscreen to your skin.

This treatment is extremely relaxing and can be comined with one our luxury facials.

Aftercare

- Avoid intensive sun exposure or tanning booths during the course of treatments.

- Use daily sunscreen protection with a minimum of 30 SPF during the course of treatments.
- Use of an intensive moisturiser is advised for at least a week as skin may feel drier or tighter after treatment.

- Mineral make-up can be applied immediately after treatment.

- Anti-ageing creams containing retinol or glycolic acid may be reintroduced progressively 48 hours after the last procedure session with Lumixa.
